International Beer Day takes place on the first Friday of August and was founded in Santa Cruz, California in 2007. It has three stated purposes: to enjoy beer with friends, to celebrate the people who brew and serve beer, and to unite the world under the banner of beer. Bars, breweries, and beer lovers in over 200 cities worldwide participate with events and specials.

How to Use #InternationalBeerDay

Post a photo of your beer or your favorite brewery and tag a friend you would want to share one with. Breweries can run promotions or spotlight their brewers. International posts do well since the hashtag trends globally - show what beer culture looks like where you live.
